Biography

Meg earned her MA and PhD in American Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Kansas. To her position as Assistant Director, she brings two years of experience as Emily Taylor Center for Women and Gender Equity’s Program Coordinator as well as over a decade of undergraduate teaching experience in the fields of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; American Studies; and Sociology. She has published a number of academic book reviews, journal articles, and scholarly essays that explore issues of gender, race, sexuality, and class. In her role, she promotes intersectional trans-inclusive feminism through educational programming and social media. Meg is committed to fostering feminist consciousness raising as well as community building practices rooted in vulnerability, empathy, and love. She has a particular passion for teaching zine making as a way of encouraging self-expression, practicing feminism, fostering community, and challenging mainstream mass media.
