Biography

Monty is the Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity's Zine Fellow. In this position, he hosts weekly Zines & Za Nights, edits compilation zines featuring student work, facilitates zine-making workshops by request, and co-organizes the annual Paper Plains Zine Fest. An undergraduate in the School of Education at KU, Monty is studying to be a teacher. She makes music and shares or sells his zines under the pseudonym "Monty Protest." Monty is also an activist and played a role in pressuring the City of Lawrence to pass Ordinance 9999, making it a trans safe haven. If she's not making zines or running around putting up posters on campus, he's probably at a basement punk show.
