Biography: 

        A member of the KU law faculty since 1977, Professor Schroeder is recognized as a leading authority in labor and employment law. She was named the Paul E. Wilson Professor of Law in 1999, a recognition of the quality of her scholarship. Schroeder is an outstanding teacher as well and a recipient of the law school's Immel Award for Teaching Excellence. In 1984 the KU Commission on the Status of Women named her the outstanding woman teacher at KU. She holds both a bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Michigan, where she was articles and book review editor of the Michigan Law Review.

        Before beginning her career as a professor Schroeder was an attorney for Spence, Fane, Britt, and Browne in Kansas City. As well as serving as a professor, Schroeder has remained active in the law community at large. She has sat on the State of Kansas Employment Security Advisory Council, Board of Directors for Kansas Legal Services Inc., as well as the Kansas Continuing Legal Education Commission.  The University Of Kansas is truly blessed to have such a remarkable woman on our campus.
